Greetings And Much Love To You Through Jesus Christ:
Thank-you for visiting the website of The Leavittsburg Church Of The Nazarene. We are located in Leavittsburg, Ohio. U.S.A.
The church is an active member of The International Church Of The Nazarene headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. Our beliefs are simple. We believe in the saving and sanctifying power of The Lord Jesus Christ. We are Wesleyan in our persuasion. That means we believe that God mandates everyone to be forgiven of their sins and to be filled with The Holy Spirit. Here at Leavittsburg we believe that our God has given orders to be a Holy Spirit hospital where sinners and saints can come and be weekly refreshed and restore in mind, body and soul.
As Senior Pastor of the church, I urge you who are reading this to be diligent in your spiritual life. That means that it is not only essential for our well-being to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but to guard it with good life altering habits. That means that each of us must not only be forgiven of our sins, but we must stay forgiven by being empowered by The Holy Spirit to live a transformed and holy life. The Apostle Peter nearly two thousand years ago echoed the importance of knowing Christ when he said,
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began (Acts 3:19-21).
The Word of God tells us that repentance is mandated by God. We must be forgiven and freed from the power of sin that is in the world today. Furthermore, Peter tells us by repentance we shall enjoy His refreshing and be part of His promise that Christ will return to the earth and do away with all sin forever. We believe that the Day of His return is very close because of the many biblical prophecies that are now fulfilled. Peter also warns us of Divine judgment. To avoid judgment we must be made righteous before God.
Here is how that can happen for you. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. That’s you and me. He is God. He deliberately came from Heaven to take our place in punishment by dying of the cross. He was the only person ever to live who never sin. We are to believe this message. However, in believing this message it is more than just thinking we believe He died for us. We are to believe that it involves a total conversion away from sin into the love of Christ for us. Because Christ was sinless, He alone could be the perfect sacrifice for sin. He took our sins upon Him and was punished for us. Transformation begins with being forgiven by God.
Sin always destroys people. Christ came to destroy what sin does to us. Sin will always kill us spiritually and morally. You can be restored to God today by asking Him to forgive you and by receiving Christ into your life. If you are sincere about this, may I suggest you pray the following prayer. God wants to transform your life out of its brokenness into His love.
Please forgive me of my sins. I want You to be my Savior from sin and my Lord in how I live. I want to be made clean by believing in what you did for me when You died on the cross in my place for my sins. I ask that You now take over my life and lead me forever. I hereby declare to You that at this very moment I am receiving Your Son Jesus Christ into my life. He is now my Lord. In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.
If you have prayed this important prayer let me say this, Welcome to the family of God!
Guess what happens if you do not eat? You will starve. Your spiritual life needs to be fed. Let me encourage you to do the following,
